SRINAGAR : The Industrial Training Institute in Tral area of South Kashmir lacks basic facilities which is badly hitting the education of hundreds of the students, enrolled there in different courses.

At it’s new campus in Bajwani Tral, the Institute according to the students, lacks basic facilities like proper electricity , Internet,  and is short of Computers in the laboratories.

The Institute is offering different courses like Computer operator and programming assistant (COPA) , Electrician, Mechanical, Welding , Data Entry Operators, Stenography etc. and its student strength is in hundrends, but only six computers are available there.

The college caters to the students of various rural pockets of the Tral. Due to the lack of electricity during working hours and lack of computers in the lab, students are being forced to spend more time in the park, outside the campus.

Students while talking to this reporter alleged that despite the presence of generator in the Institute , concerned authorities never use it, which is giving tough to the students especially enrolled in “COPA”.

“We are around 60 students enrolled in ‘COPA’ course here and only 6 computers are available. Apart from that, electricity is usually remaining off, which irks us all the time ,” said a girl student. Adding that their precious time time is only being wasted there.

The students of the Institute said that internet facility is not operational which is must for the students of COPA and other courses.

Meanwhile, The students requested the higher ups to personally look into the matter as early as possible to mitigate our issues.

Despite several attempts, Supervisor ITI Tral, couldn’t be contacted.
