SAMBA: Three students (Kanav Krishna, Vishal Verma& Kush Sharma) who were part of the Samba Super 40 project of Gurj Division have cleared the AFCAT (I) 2018 exam. This further builds onto the earlier result of the Combined Defence Services exam, declassified on 28 Mar 2018 wherein four students had cleared the entrance. Now these seven students will be further trained for the Services Selection Board.

The project started on 16 Sep 2017 and involved screening & selection of potential candidates, setting up infrastructure for the classes, selection of teachers & preparation of study material. A state of the art classroom with e-class facility as well as a well stocked library was established at Samba Brigade for running the project.  Apart from the regular classes conducted daily by a competent team of teachers, the aspirants were also provided with professional coaching by Lt Col Muruganatham (Retd), Director, Star Officers Study Circle, Chennai and also by experts from Pune through Aseem Foundation (a Pune based NGO) via e-learning classes.

This initiative has not only helped the youth to prepare themselves for the competition and to make their dreams of joining the Armed Forces come true but has also strengthened the bonds between Army and the people of Samba.
