JAMMU: A two day Inter School, Girls Kho-Kho Competition was organised by Army at Government High School, Harni. The aim for organising the event was to encourage the girl students to imbibe healthy life style and highlight the opportunities available to girls to take up sports as a career option.

The event witnessed the participation of four Kho-Kho teams from Rajouri district. The keenly contested final match was played wherein Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Harniwon against Govt High School, Harni. Both winners and runners up were awarded with cash prize and individual medals. Gracing the occasion, the villagers said that such proponent measures which helps in nurturing and motivating girl child need to be promoted more through such events.

The event was attended by the teachers, students and prominent citizens of Harni and adjoining villages.  On the occasion, Army applauded the participants for displaying sportsmanship spirit and encouraged them to make the best use of such platforms to display their sporting talent and also laid emphasis on the importance of games and sport for their overall development.
