  • Today a farewell function was organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu to bid farewell to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir.




JAMMU: Today a farewell function was organized by J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu to bid farewell to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir designated as chief justice, High Court of Manipur & Meghalaya who have been transferred on account of their elevation as Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur & Meghalaya respectively

The function  started with the presentation of bouquets to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir, Justice Alok Aradhey, Justice D.S. Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjay Gupta & Justice J.R. Kotwal by, besides, Advocates namely Ajay Sharma,Seema Shekhar, Sudershan Sharma, Vikram Sharma, S. Baldev Singh,Pranav Kohli,Vishal Goel, Masood Choudhary,R.P. Sharma,Veenu Gupta,Monika Kohli,Vishal Sharma,Rozina Afzal & Gourav Jamwal,

This apart, mementos were  also presented to Justice  Ramalingam Sudhakar,Justice  Mohd Yaqoob Mir by the Senior Advocates namely U.K. Jalali,D.C. Raina, Sunil Sethi, K.S. Johal, Surinder Kour & team of office bearers led by B.S. Slathia, Sr.Advocate, President, besides, Sachin Gupta Vice President, Prem Sadotra General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma Joint Secretary & Chetan Misri Treasurer.

While addressing the august gathering, President B.S. Slathia, Senior Advocate said that Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir their remarkable sense of justice and fairness combined with simplicity and brilliance, have been their hallmarks as a Judges of High Court. Slathia further stated that Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir always treated all the lawyers equally and did not believe in the face law, which quality of them was admired by all the members of the Association. Slathia further stated that Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir have done their utmost efforts to develop the infrastructure of the High Courts, besides Trial courts in the State.Slathia also expressed his grave concern to the challenges being faced by the institution of the judiciary, from  within and outside the institution, for upholding its independence. He further stated  that the Association shall leave no stone unturned to fight such forces  unitidily and defeat any such move from any quarter .

While addressing the august gathering the Judges lauded the role of legal fraternity of  J&K as also the role played by the members of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu in extending their sincere cooperation and assistance in conducting the court proceedings . They both  very candidly expressed their gratitude to the cooperation received by them from their colleagues as well as members of the Bar Association.

Prem Sadotra, General Secretary  compared the proceedings of the function and lauded the role of  the Hon’ble Judges during their service tenure in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.    

Sachin Gupta, Vice President presented the vote of thanks & appreciated the role of Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar & Justice Mohd Yaqoob Mir. He said that  their Lordship’s remarkable sense of justice and fairness combined with simplicity and brilliance, have been their hallmarks as a Judges of the High Court. 

The function was concluded with the reciting of National  Anthem by the august gathering followed by the high tea.

The prominent among others who were present in the function were L.K. Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, K.S. Johal, H.C. Jalmeria, A.K. Sawhney, Gagan Basotra, Rupinder Singh, P.N. Goja, Ajay Sharma, Rajiner Singh, Pankaj Jamwal, B.K. Bhat, Rajesh Kotwal, Suresh Sharma, Suresh Dogra & many others.
