POONCH(M S Nazki): In a major crackdown against the menace of bovine smuggling through Mughal Road, Poonch police here claimed to have foiled a major bovine smuggling bid and arrested eleven people besides rescuing 77 bovine animals from their possession and also seized Nine vehicles.
As per an official spokesperson, teams of Surankote police under the direction of SSP poonch Rajiv Pandey and supervision of Addl.SP. Anwar Ul Haq the police party led by SDPO Surankote Rayaz Ahmed and SHO Surankote Mohd Anzar Mir laid different nakas on Mughal Road. During the course of checking, the police team intercepted seven vehicles and found 77 bovine animals carried towards Kashmir.
The police have arrested eleven persons in this regard, whereas all the bovine animals have been rescued.
The vehicles being used for the smuggling of bovines had also been seized by the police and nine different cases in FIR 68/2018, 69/2018,70/2018 71/2028 72/2018 72/2018 73/2019 74/2018 75/2028 and 76/2018 US 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at police station Surankote.
