Social reformer remembered on death anniversary by CBSM

AKHNOOR: Rich tributes were paid to Krishan Lal Sharma, social reformer, employees’ leader, member ICELA, comrade, scholar on his 16th death anniversary by Chander Bhaga Sanskriti Manch, Akhnoor in collaboration with Employees’ Welfare Forum, Akhnoor at Brahman Sabha, Akhnoor on 30th October, 2018. 

A composite Mushaira was organized on this occasion. Rajeev Sharma,MLA, Akhnoor was the chief guest on this occasion. O P Sharma, Director Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creature Arts presided over the function. Dr. K C Bhagat, Retd. Principal, University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology was the guest of honour.

The poets who recited their poems included Kewal Kumar Kewal, Pawan Kumar, Naseeb Singh, Rattan Bhardwaj, Mohan Bharti, V K Mishra, Hans Raj Sharma ‘Hans’, Renu Sharma and O P Shakir.

In his presidential address O P Sharma appreciated the efforts of CBSM for organizing cultural and literary activities in Akhnoor area. He said that CBSM deserves appreciation that it has dedicated the event of Kavi Mushiaira to Krishan Lal on his 16th death anniversary. He complimented the poets for presenting fine poetry in different local languages.   

Speaking on this occasion Rajeev Sharma appreciated the initiative taken by CBSM to pay respects to Late Krishan Lal Sharma who has been a social reformer and struggled for the welfare of the society and the employees of the region. 

K C Bhagat in his address recollected his memories about Krishan Lal. Other speakers who expressed their views spoke on the occasion included Dr. Tilak Gupta and Baldev Raj. 

Family members of Late Krishan Lal who attended the programme included Sheela Devi (wife), Satyinder Kumar, Pawan Kumar and Raman Sharma (sons), Sharda, Sushma and Anju (daughter- in- laws), Swastik Sharma, Parikshit, Aprajit and Astitva (grandsons), Vibhuti (granddaughters) and Taniya (granddaughter- in- law). 

O P Shakir, President CBSM conducted the proceedings of the programme.
