  • Two militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday, reports said.




SRINAGAR: Two militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Tral area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday, reports said.

According to reports, two militants were killed in Mir Mohalla after forces blasted the house and razed it to the ground today morning.

A senior police officer also confirmed the killing of two militants and said that the search operation was still on, it said. 

"So far we have recovered two bodies of militants along with two AK-47 rifles," said the officer.

slain militants have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Rather (Joining date 17-11-2017) resident of Shariefabad and Adfar Fayaz (Joining date 06th July 2018) Resident of Gulshanpora Tral.

The gunfight, according to reports, began today morning after fresh contact was established with the militants who had exchanged fire last night too.

An officer said the operation was suspended last night due to darkness but was resumed at the crack of dawn today.
