16 bovines rescued, vehicle seized by District Police Samba

  • During checking of the said vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission.




SAMBA: Acting on reliable information received at Police Station Ghagwal that bovine animals are being smuggled towards Srinagar, a Police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspr. Rajeev Kumar, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra DySP Hqrs. Samba during vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing Regd. No. JK02AR-3144 which was coming from Kathua side. 

During checking of the said vehicle, 16 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized. 

In this regard, a case FIR No. 34/2019 U/S 295-A/188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.

It may be recalled that the vigorous drive against the bovine smugglers has been launched by District Police Samba on the directives of Dr. Koshal Sharma, JKPS, SSP Samba.
