59 bovine animals rescued at Udhampur, 03 Smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR: Police today rescued 59 bovine animals at Udhampur. 

Giving details Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur said that, Based on a reliable information, a police party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp.Vijay Singh Choudhary under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch Adl. SP Udhampur laid a naka for checking near Sangoor chowk NHW, Udhampur. 

During naka checking, police party intercepted 02 groups (55 bovine animals) of bovine animals which were taken on foot by the smugglers separately towards Kashmir without any valid permission. 

All 55 bovine animals in total were rescued and accused smugglers namely Hamid Khan S/O Ab. Gani R/O Hartayan alongwith Mohd. Mashboor S/O Barkat Ali R/O Hartayan were arrested on spot. 02 associate accused fled away from the spot. 

In this connection, 02 cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.

In another case, same police party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur  while conducting surprise checking of vehicles plying on NHW near Jakhani chowk, NHW Udhampur intercepted one Mahindra bolero bearing registration number JK 14C 5946 for checking. During thorough search of said vehicle, 04 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. 

All the 04 bovine animals were rescued. The accused namely Gulam Rasool S/O Mohd. Ayub R/O Thalpad, Udhampur was arrested on the spot and vehicle was also seized. 

In this connection, another case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
