61 bovine animals rescued at Udhampur,07 smugglers arrested in three different cases

  • Police today rescued 61 bovine animals at Udhampur and Rehambal.




UDHAMPUR: Police today rescued 61 bovine animals at Udhampur and Rehambal. 

Giving details Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur said that, Based on a reliable information, a police party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch Adl. SP Udhampur laid a naka for checking of vehicles at Jakhani NHW, Udhampur. 

During naka checking, police party intercepted 02 trucks bearing registration no. JK 19 4655 and JK02 AQ 7781  for checking. During search of said vehicles, 41 no. of bovine animals were found loaded in both the vehicles without any permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and accused namely Mohd.Raqeeb S/O Sayeed Ali R/O Anantnag,Javed Ahmed S/O Shamasdin R/O Ramban and Ashiq Ali S/O Mussa R/O Krimchi Udhampur were arrested on spot. 

In this connection, 02 cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.

In another case, police party of Police Post Roundomail led by Insp.Vijay Singh Choudhary assisted by SI Jaswinder Singh IC PP Roundomail under the supervision of Dr.Rohit Chadgal Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid naka for checking of vehicles at Roundomail. During naka checking, police party intercepted 03 no. of bovine animals which were taken on foot by smugglers towards Kashmir. 

All the 03 bovine animals were rescued and the accuseds namely Manzoor Ahmed S/O Mohd. Washington R/O Mario Udhampur, Sanjay Sharma S/O Khem Raj R/O Nagoulta Tehsil Chenani District Udhampur and Mohd. Rashid S/O Mohd. Main R/O Narsoo Udhampur were arrested on spot.

In this connection, 01 more case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is going on.

Similariy, at Rehambal, police party of Police Station Rehambal led by Insp. Ajay Bhat SHO PS Rehambal under the supervision of  Dr.Rohit Chadgal Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid naka for checking of vehicles at NHW, Flata, Udhampur. During naka checking, police party intercepted 17 no. of  bovine animals which were taken on foot by smugglers without any valid permission towards Kashmir. 

All the 17 bovine animals were rescued and accused smuggler namely Mohd. Khalid S/O Mohd. Iqbal R/O Nandini, Jammu was arrested on spot.In this connection,case under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Rehambal and further investigation is going on.
