Drug Peddler arrested at Kunjwani, poppy straw recovered

  • The driver was identified as Raghvir Singh, s/o Late Harbans Singh, R/o Ekta Vihar, Gangyal. On checking, 5 (five) kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.




JAMMU: Continuing its crackdown against drug menace under Operation Sanjeevani, District Police Jammu arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw today. 

A police party of Police Station Gangyal led by ASI Rakesh Kumar, while on naka checking at Kunjwani,stopped an Indian Oil tanker bearing registration no. JK02V -7380 for checking. The driver was identified as Raghvir Singh, s/o Late Harbans Singh, R/o Ekta Vihar, Gangyal. On checking, 5 (five) kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession. 

In relation to this, FIR No. 39/2019 u/s 8/15 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation is in process.
