  • DDC Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today presided over one day workshop on preparedness of School Disaster Management Plan under National School Safety Plan.




BUDGAM: District Development Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today presided over one day workshop on preparedness of School Disaster Management Plan under National School Safety Plan. 

The workshop was organized by Department of Education at New Conference Hall Budgam. The workshop was attended by ZEOs,Principals HSSs and Headmasters of Government as well as private institutions. 

During the workshop, demonstration was given regarding how to tackle the emergencies during any eventuality of manmade or natural disasters. Divisional Coordinator NSSP from DSEK MR Nisar Ahmad Dar and Nodal Officer GN Shakir through their presentation unfolded the curtain raiser of initiatives and measures any institution has to execute in any emergency scenario for rescue and relief requirements. 

Speaking on the occasion,the DDC appreciated concerned education authorities in organizing such knowledge based workshops useful for emergency requirements. She said keeping in view the vulnerability of natural and manmade disasters our valley is routinely facing, we have to be remain pro-actively ready with our resources in full gear to tackle any emergency.

During the workshop, the DDC while addressing the gathering of ZEOs, Principals, Headmasters and others present urged for strong motivation and dedication from all concerned towards their profession and ensuring quality education. 

Earlier, the DDC Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar convened a meeting to review the various aspects pertaining to smooth functioning of key sectors relating to performance and function of modalities and requirements the education sector needs to upgrade its services in the interest of quality education. 

CEO Budgam presented the detailed view of education sector of the district. She said the department is working on timeframe manual in addressing the key issues particularly making vacant school buildings functional, rationalization of teachers keeping in view their requirements, providing basic needs like water, electricity and toilet facility in the institutions, monitoring attendance through district and sub division committee of officers and regular monitoring of the works of the school buildings. 

Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, ADC Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CPO, R. A. Dar, ACR Zaffer Ahmad Shawl, CEO Fatima Tak, DEPO, F. A. Raina and other concerned.
