Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Sub Office Kathua organized a multi lingual Mushaira at Govt. College for Women, Kathua here today in which over eighteen poets of Kathua district participated in the Mushaira in front of a mammoth gathering of students.
Mrs. Sangeeta Nagari, Principal Govt. College for Women, Kathua was the chief guest on the occasion who got awestruck after witnessing the world class Mushaira by the seasonal poets of Kathua District. She appreciated the way of JKAACL for presenting Mushaira in the college premises. She further shared that, 'Culture is a binding factor that ties people together'. Our culture and tradition is the face of ourself and it's our moral responsibility to preserve it. Such initiatives always take the culture to the next level of preservation of the arts. She further requested JKAACL to come up with such kind of initiatives so that the students get some experience and exposure to art and culture.
At the very outset Sanjeev Gupta SOCA, JKAACL Sub-Office, Kathua dwelt in detail about the journey of Sub-Office Kathua since he took charge. He said that we are trying to do our best in the preservation and promotion of the Art and Culture of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu is very rich in terms of performing arts and our motive is to take our culture to every house so that the younger generation gets known by its roots. Today’s Mushaira was such an example, he added.
The poets who gave the marvellous poetic performances include Santosh Ria, Diman, Dharamveer, Guru Par, Paramjeet Sharma, Mohd. Showket, Balak Ram, Madan lal Toofan, Sham Lal Khajuria, Kuldeep Kippi, Anu Gupta, Khajoor Singh, Karamdin Chopra, Sunil Dutt, Sham Narayan Mehta, Dr Usha Monga, Tilak Raj Sumbria and Ritu Raj Sharma. The mushaira was ably conducted by the Sahitya Akademi Awardee Sh. Vijay Sharma.
